A learning app for children aged 5 to 11, run by the adult who buys it
PebbleYard is a subscription website for practising school subjects at home or in a classroom. A parent, carer, teacher or childcare centre creates an account, adds a profile for each child, and chooses what those children work on. The child opens their own space, reads a short illustrated lesson, then answers a ten question quiz or a spelling set on what they just read. Their score, time and progress are saved so the adult can see how they are getting on.
The subjects included are maths, English, geometry, countries, continents, space and Australia, and we add more as we go. An adult can also describe a topic of their own - what it should cover, and for what age - and our AI writes the lesson pages and the questions, ready to review and tweak before it behaves exactly like the built-in ones. There is no advertising, no chat and no way for children to contact each other: a child profile holds a display name an adult typed and nothing else.

You stay in control of the settings
Leaderboards are private to your family unless you say otherwise, and every child uses an alias rather than their name.

Public boards are opt-in per child, and reversible at any time.
Timing you set, and can lock
No timer, count up, or a hard limit. Lock it and the child sees "Set by your parent".
Pausing hides the question
A paused test can't be studied. The question leaves the screen entirely.

Only grown-ups sign up
You create the account, with an email address and password, or by choosing Google or Facebook if you would rather not manage another password. Your child never creates an account and never has a password of their own: once you have set them up, they sign in separately with a code and a PIN (or a printed QR card at school) - never through Google or Facebook, and never with an email address.
If you sign in with Google, we receive three things and use them for one purpose, which is creating and signing you into your PebbleYard account:
- Your email address, which identifies your account.
- Your basic profile, meaning your name and picture, used to fill in your display name.
- A Google account identifier, so signing in again returns you to the same account.
We do not request access to Gmail, Drive, Contacts, Calendar or Photos, and nothing in the product could read them. We never sell this information and never use it for advertising. Read the privacy policy.
