The outside

Pick up a book. The first thing you see is the cover. The cover has the title on it. The title is the name of the book. The author's name is on the cover too. The author is the person who wrote the words.

Turn the book on its side. The thin edge is the spine. That is the edge you see when a book is on a shelf.

Turn the book over. The writing on the back is the blurb. The blurb tells you what the book is about, so you can decide if you want to read it.
